Entry Requirements with Description
  1. Minimum age of 18 years at the course commencement. (While it’s generally recommended for candidates to be aged 20 or above, those between 18 and 20 may be considered at the discretion of the center.)

The Interview

Once your pre-interview task has been reviewed and approved, you will receive an invitation for an interview. While a face-to-face interview is preferred, arrangements can be made for a phone or Skype interview if you are located abroad.

During the interview, the interviewer will assess your fluency, language learning background, motivation for undertaking the course, and your ability to give and receive feedback. If you are applying for the full-time course, we will also inquire whether you have cleared your schedule for the entire duration of the course.

Additionally, the interview serves as an opportunity for you to ask any questions or seek clarification about the course.

At the conclusion of the interview, we will notify you of your acceptance into the course and provide guidance on how to prepare effectively.

How to Apply and Pre-interview task

Designed to provide both you and us with an initial assessment of your suitability for the CELTA course, the pre-interview task evaluates the following:

A weak performance on the pre-course task may impact your acceptance onto the course. However, admission to the course is not solely determined by this assessment.

Post-Interview Process

To secure your spot in the course, a deposit of 250 OMR is required. The remaining fee must be paid in full no later than two weeks before the course commences. Applicants who apply less than six weeks before the course start date are expected to pay the fees upon acceptance. Late applications will be considered if vacancies are available.

Furthermore, if you have already completed an application form and pre-interview task for a CELTA course at another Cambridge-approved CELTA center, we will accept these materials. A brief discussion may be necessary, but a second application and interview will not be required as long as you provide us with your application and letter of acceptance from the other approved CELTA center.

Preparation for the Course

Pre-course Task:

Upon acceptance, you will receive a pre-course task designed to familiarize you with key topics that will be covered during the course. This task typically requires 8-10 hours to complete. While your responses will not be graded, this preparation will greatly benefit you, especially if you are undertaking a full-time CELTA course with limited time for extensive reading.

Enhancing Language Awareness:

It’s important to note that the CELTA course itself is not a grammar course; rather, it focuses on teaching grammar among other aspects. If you feel the need to enhance your language awareness, or if it has been recommended during the interview, we offer complimentary access to an online grammar course from Cambridge English. This course is specifically tailored for novice teachers and CELTA candidates.
